Kooky Cupcake is Shirley Siaton-Parabia‘s blog on her personal aesthetic, inspirations and choices. Since way back when, I could describe myself as tasteful in my outward and internal expressions, but with just a dash of crazy to keep things interesting.
This website has been live since 27 May 2019. The domain was purchased on 17 June 2018 and is currently registered with NameCheap. It spent almost a year unused in my control panel before I finally decided to bring my idea for an aesthetic-focused, personal randomness blog to life, separate and distinct from my more structured personal journal, Shi Bytes. The rest of my websites are listed at Very Shirley.
I have always loved pastries and baking, especially with so much artistry involved in putting pretty desserts together. When coming up with a name for this blog, I wanted something related to baked sweeties but reflective of my own creative chaos as well. Cupcake was the first dessert I baked for my husband (chocolate-flavored) when he got me an oven in 2014; I am also physically small, one compact and neat package of smiles and muscles. I have also adored eating and making cookies since I was a child. Kooky, or a bit crazy, was the perfect homonym to the latter and, thus, Kooky Cupcake born.
